Making Headlines in 2015 After Banning Global Corporations From Purchasing Ad Spots Within the Show, the Breakout TV Series 'Back Stabber' Has Officially Lifted its Procurement Policy

HOLLYWOOD, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 20, 2017 / Originally slated to premiere on Netflix, the series 'Back Stabber' began filming its pilot episode for Amazon in June of 2015. Dedicated to helping small businesses thrive, the young producers of the series put a ban on all corporate involvement for product integration and marketing within the series, releasing the lowest priced ad spots in history according to the article 'No Biz Like Show Biz' by the Boston College Law School Magazine. Sticking with their ban throughout season 1, the low-budget TV series premiered on Amazon in June of 2016, and went on to break records throughout Hollywood for its astronomical success.

Now in pre-production for its second season, 'Back Stabber' producers have seemed to changed their outlook on corporate involvement, producer Jordan Fraser said, "At the end of the day we have to produce a TV show, and though we tried to help out the small businesses in America, nobody wanted to take the offers. As a digital series, there are no actual commercial breaks, so we fund our production through product integration and product placement within the series. We had 1 company take the opportunity, the organic skincare company ZskinCosmetics.Com, but other than that nobody wanted to take part in the show."

With the massive success of season 1 of the show, the low-budget TV series has drawn in some heavy hitters from Hollywood, including stars of 'Family Guy', 'Prison Break', 'Hair Spray' and multiple other block buster titles, co-producer Ryan Zamo mentioned, "If we want to include big name actors in the show we have to pay them, that's a big part of why we opened up our ad spots to larger corporations who are interested in purchasing them."

Though they said they are still open to helping small businesses, the group of producers have already allowed international giants to snag advertising spots, such as; Dell Computers, Mercedes Benz, Smart Cars, Vauss Water and Juicy Juice to name a few. Set to begin production in March, season 2 of 'Back Stabber' has no exact release dates yet, but the show is slated to premiere this fall on Amazon. Season 1 of the series can currently be streamed at: https://www.amazon.com/Back-Stabber/dp/B01GJ1SXBG.

About 'Back Stabber':

'Back Stabber' was written over 8 years ago as final project in film school by creator Ryan Zamo. After 7 years of rejection from Hollywood producers due to its messages of LGBT issues, anti-bullying and acceptance themes, co-producers Jordan Fraser and Ryan Zamo finally landed on streaming the independent show online. Producing all 11 episodes in season 1 for a final budget of $1750, the series went on to become a break out hit with almost 1 million viewers within the first 60 days of its premiere. After attracting major press headlines for its record breaking low-budget success, the show was in consideration for multiple golden globe awards, though it did not make the final list of nominees. Now up for 'Best Ensemble In A Drama' by the Independent Series Awards, 'Back Stabber' is in pre-production for its second season and is set to premiere in November of 2017.
