They are connecting with many spiritual leaders to reach millions of people throughout the world coming together in small and large groups meditating and praying for peace around a sacred fire. The group is calling on people from all faiths, cultures, and nationalities to unite in prayer in the presence of a sacred flame.

Why sacred fire? "The sacredness of fire is universal to all spiritual traditions - a flame is the living symbol of the Divine," says Monika Penukonda, the Center's Spiritual Director. "Ancient civilizations knew how to use the power of fire to purify negative vibrations and transmit peace and healing over long distances. During the 26-hour period, as every time zone enters the new year, the group seeks to have millions of lights burning for peace, sending a wave of light and healing energy circling the globe.
