4Patriots LLC Donates To RIP Medical Debt to Help Abolish Medical Debt Owed By Active Members of the U.S. Armed Forces and Veterans

NASHVILLE, TN / ACCESSWIRE / July 6, 2016 / In an effort to deepen its commitment to active members of the U.S. Armed Forces and veterans - as well as to continue its overall philanthropic endeavors - 4Patriots LLC announced today that it is making the first in an ongoing series of monthly donations to RIP Medical Debt, an organization which aims to abolish medical debt. The 4Patriots donation is earmarked for active U.S. military personnel and veterans.

"Members of the U.S. Armed Forces - both active and our veterans - pay a big price to protect us, and the last thing they need is to be burdened with medical debt," said Allen Baler, Partner at 4Patriots, the Nashville, Tenn.-based company which provides a variety of products that help people become more self-reliant and independent.

"At 4Patriots we want to do our part to honor their service and relieve stress related to it. So we're happy to make the first of many monthly donations to RIP Medical Debt to accomplish that goal. It's an organization with a big impact. Because they can buy debt for pennies on the dollar, our donation should free U.S. military personnel from about $100,000 in medical debt."

RIP Medical Debt analyzes medical debt portfolios to determine who is most in need of relief, then negotiates to purchase this debt for a significantly reduced amount. This in turn unburdens debtors of their medical debt.

Among those individuals most in need are active military personnel and veterans. Many of them end up waiting for VA care - or don't get that care at all. Those who return to civilian life with post traumatic stress disorder often find themselves juggling low-paying jobs or unemployed.

Before long many of them are fielding an onslaught of harassing telephone calls from debt collectors who don't care that the people they are calling have recently finished putting themselves in harm's way to valiantly serve their country.

RIP Medical Debt is one of several military-specific organizations receiving donations from 4Patriots. Others are:

  • Fisher House Foundation, which operates homes across the country where families of active duty soldiers and veterans alike can stay at no cost while their loved one is receiving medical treatment.
  • Operation Homefront, which aids military families during difficult financial times by providing food, auto and home repair, vision care, travel and transportation, moving assistance, essential home items, and financial help.
  • A Soldier's Child Foundation, which provides meaningful birthday gifts to the children of fallen U.S. military members and offers mentorship programs and college scholarships.

"It's really our customers who we have to thank for the ability to give back. Their purchases of our products enable us to make these types of donations," Baler said. "At 4Patriots, we feel very fortunate to be in a position where we can help the families of U.S. military members. They and their families deserve everything that these organizations and other fine charities provide for them."

4Patriots has a history of helping people in need through contributions to charitable organizations. The company donated supplies of emergency food to flooding victims in the Houston area through the Houston Food Bank; to victims of tornadoes in Arkansas through the Arkansas Rice Depot; to blizzard victims in Massachusetts through the Worcester Food Bank; to people struggling to put food on the table during the holidays through the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee; and more.

"Because we spend much of our time and energy urging people to prepare for disasters, we believe the least we can do is help out when Mother Nature unleashes her fury," Baler said. "Our hearts go out to the victims of these extreme weather events and we encourage everyone who is able to donate to food banks across the country to do the same."

4Patriots is the creator of Food4Patriots, the emergency food suitable for long-term storage and survival; Patriot Power Generator, a portable solar generator; Water4Patriots, personal and tabletop water-filtration systems that purify water from virtually any source; Patriot Power Hub, a portable device that jump-starts almost any vehicle; and SurvivalSeeds4Patriots, America-grown heirloom and non-GMO seeds.
