Crop Cop is a product of Nixer Tech LLC and was designed by Nicholas Szegedi, an electro-mechanical expert who spent 40 years working on secret projects for NATO and COMSEC.

The line-up is designed to deter the usual suspects when it comes to crop protection, including deer, birds, gophers, rodents, and all varieties of vermin either in the air or on the ground.

"Extensive testing validated the effectiveness of the system," says Szegedi. "Random acoustic, visual, and tactile stimuli worked well on all vertebrates in the air, on the ground, and below ground. But, the hardware needed constant maintenance and several iterations later the CROP COP was born."

Crop Cop operates on safe 12 VDC from power sources including AC-DC power converters, solar panels, or rechargeable batteries. The interval timer randomly switches the power between on and off cycles to use the minimum possible energy for operation.

Shiny metallic streamers spin above plants creating subtle air turbulence which frightens birds. Kinetic energy from the transducers is transmitted via trellis wires between corresponding T-posts, and then transmitted into the ground to deter burrowing rodents. The end result is a chaotic environment to the perception of animals which engages their natural instinct is to flee.

To humans however, the turbulence is hardly noticeable. To the untrained eye, the system simply looks like a few rotating fans and small vibrating barrels.

According to recent reports, scientists estimate that an additional one billion people can be fed by cutting global food losses in half. And in the United States alone, the damage to edible crops is a staggering 4.5 billion dollars annually.

In order to bring Crop Cop to the mass market, the team has taken it to the pages of Kickstarter. Once enough funds are raised, they will purchase the materials necessary to manufacture the first production of inventory, and entertain the inevitable big contract deals that they feel are just on the horizon.
