RAYNHAM, MA / ACCESSWIRE / April 21, 2016 / For the past eight years, Mastria Subaru has participated in Subaru’s annual Share the Love event, in which a portion of the proceeds from each new vehicle sold or leased are donated to a local charity that benefits the community. This year, the greater Boston Subaru dealership leveraged its resources to help the shelter provide a safe haven for unwanted and neglected dogs in need of some tender loving care. After nearly two months of collecting donations, Mastria Subaru raised a grand total of $22,390.87 for the Blue Dog Shelter in Brockton, MA, and will present them with a check during a ceremony in their Raynham showroom on Tuesday, April 19 at 3:00 p.m.
The donation Mastria Subaru made to Blue Dog Shelter is a part of a larger effort by Subaru to support organizations that benefit their communities. Each year, Subaru begins its Share the Love event with the intention of generating funds for local charities that are known for their good will. This year's event ran from November 19 until January 2, and for every new vehicle bought or leased, Subaru donated $250 to a charity of the dealership's choosing. By the end of the event, Subaru's goal is to donate more than $65 million to various charities.

With a mission of easing the suffering of dogs in need of refuge, the Blue Dog Shelter provides homeless and unwanted animals with a safe, clean environment where they can regain their health. Daily exercise, healthy diet and outstanding healthcare are all a part of Blue Dog Shelter's offerings, as is a reward-based training system to better prepare the dogs for adoption. Blue Dog Shelter uses donations such as Mastria Subaru's to rehabilitate dogs, prepare and ultimately place them with a loving adopter in a forever-home.
