NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / January 22, 2015 / Fresh Harvest Products, Inc. "Fresh Harvest" (OTC: FRHV) today announced that the Company has made a strategic financial investment in the parent company of The Story Plant, an established media and publishing company that specializes in e-books.

The Company now has a small equity stake in the publisher as a result of its cash investment, with management citing its new initiative to begin creating proprietary digital content as one of the primary reasons for the investment. Fresh Harvest believes that The Story Plant has some exciting programs and initiatives in place that will immediately generate a strong synergy with the Company's Art & Commerce Media "ACM" division and its creative efforts.

Art & Commerce Media will work with the media division of The Story Plant, which has turned more than one third of the novels it has published into national bestsellers and is expected to release more than 35 new titles in 2015, to collaborate on creating original content that can generate revenue through licensing and advertising fees. The Association of American Publishers has identified e-book sales as representative of thirty percent of the entire trade book market, while other estimates have suggested that e-books represent more than thirty-five percent.

The Story Plant's media division, in addition to publishing books and e-books, also provides marketing and distribution services for its clients in the mediums of film and theater.

"Making an investment in The Story Plant is a very positive step in the evolution of Fresh Harvest's ACM division as a creator of original branded content. The global market for e-books is forecasted to experience rapid growth over the next five years and it is one of our top strategic initiatives to enter and experience success in this and other high growth digital media markets," stated President and CEO of Fresh Harvest Products, Michael J. Friedman.

"We look forward to a long and profitable working relationship with The Story Plant, which has a very strong foundation, experienced management team and tremendous growth potential," concluded Mr. Friedman.

The Story Plant publishing company is dedicated to publishing quality fiction while developing commercial novelists into bestselling authors. Since the company's launch in 2008, more than one third of its published novels have appeared in the top 100 of one or more major bestseller lists. The company is currently in an aggressive expansion phase being led by its two top executives, who are successful and accredited industry professionals.

President and Founder of The Story Plant, Lou Aronica, has thirty-five years of high-level experience in the book business as a leading publisher and NY Times bestselling author and Senior Vice President Mitchell Maxwell is a successful Broadway producer, director and novelist with thirty-five-years of experience in the entertainment industry.
