For Garner Headjoints partner Bradley Garner, this partnership is particularly special; as quoted "It is exciting that one of America's oldest flute companies has decided to offer my headjoint on their whole line of flutes. My first flute, when I was 11, was a Gemeinhardt. With its new design, the BG/Garner headjoint changes the game and now the Junior High and High School band directors have help with the intonation of their flute players, especially in the third octave. It will improve the playing characteristics and intonation of any flute, not to mention the ensembles performance."

This new agreement is effective now.

About Gemeinhardt Musical Instruments;

The Gemeinhardt story begins with Kurt Gemeinhardt, a fourth generation flute maker. He was born in Markneukirchen, Germany, a region with two centuries of instrument making tradition, and served an apprenticeship under his father. Upon completion of his apprenticeship, Kurt left Germany to work his trade in St. Gallen, Switzerland, where he crafted handmade flutes for the world's most prestigious musicians. While in Switzerland his fame as the foremost creator of quality handcrafted musical instruments spread worldwide.

In 1928, Kurt Gemeinhardt traveled to America to create instruments in Elkhart, Indiana and opened his own manufacturing plant, The Gemeinhardt Company, where every instrument since has been engraved with the Gemeinhardt name. By 1951 the Gemeinhardt line had expanded to include mid-priced flutes, soon followed by the introduction of entry-level flutes.

Gemeinhardt emerged as the music industry's largest exclusive manufacturer of flutes and piccolos. In 1997 Gemeinhardt acquired the Roy Seaman Piccolo Company. The Roy Seaman tradition of finely made professional piccolos continues in Elkhart, IN U.S.A. under the demanding specifications Roy required of his instruments.

Today, Gemeinhardt Musical Instruments continues to manufacture flutes and piccolos for students and professionals alike. Balancing advancements in design and technology, alongside the applied skill of our artisans' hands undoubtedly assures each instrument reaches its optimum sound quality, technical capabilities, and durability.

About Garner Headjoints;

It was a fortuitous day when our founders, Brad Garner and Michael Geoghegan, first met in 1981. Brad was already a distinguished international flute soloist and Mike, an accomplished engineer and machinist. But despite their diverse backgrounds, they found that they shared a common bond: to explore new ways of advancing the traditional headjoint and, in so doing, take the ideas of Boehm and Cooper to revolutionary and exciting new heights.

After years of research and experimentation, they unveiled the first Garner Headjoint in 2009. Today, Garner Headjoints are being played by musicians and enjoyed by audiences all around the world.

We are committed to helping every flutist unleash his or her true potential. We will accomplish that goal by using only the finest materials, most advanced technology, exceptional craftsmanship and an uncompromising dedication to excellence.
