Chicago, IL / ACCESSWIRE / December 12, 2014 / 2014 Cyber Monday frenzy may be done and dusted, but when it comes to electronics like Apple iPads, holiday deals are still very much alive and kicking. Those who missed cyber week sales have little to worry because quite a few deals on the 2013 and 2014 Apple iPad Air and iPad Mini tablets are still going strong.

This compilation of over $50 off Apple iPad DEALS include markdowns on both the full-sized, iPad Air 1 and 2 and as well as the smaller, iPad Mini 2 and 3 tablets.

Up to $130 discounts are seen on the 2013 iPads, and over $50 discounts have been spotted on the 2014 models.

While many holiday shoppers have managed to complete their Christmas shopping on Black Friday and Cyber week, others have only begun making their lists. With Christmas less than two weeks away and holiday sales slowly but predictably waning off, this weekend may present the last chance for Christmas shoppers that are yet to complete their shopping lists.

However, this late in the shopping season, buyers are presented with an unexpected situation. That is, at many major retailers, only the 64 GB and 128 GB iPads are in-stock, while the popular 16 GB iPads have already been sold out. “However, holiday shoppers can still find the 16GB iPad Mini and iPad Air with handsome discounts if they look in the right places” says Casey Donalds, a co-author of the above deal reviews.

The next challenge buyers are faced with is deciding the right generation of iPad. The 9.7 inch iPad Air shoppers have to choose between the 1st generation and 2nd generation iPad Air tablets while the 7.9 inch iPad Mini shoppers have to choose between the 2nd and 3rd generation mini iPads.

The 9.7" versions have quite a few significant differences between the 2013 and 2014 models. For example, the 2014 model (1) is faster with a triple-core, 1.5 GHz A8X Apple processor and 2GB of RAM, (2) is 0.05 inches thinner, (3) is 32 grams lighter, (4) has a fingerprint scanner, and (5) is available in Champagne Gold in addition to the classic silver and space gray. Shoppers will have to choose between the two models based on these specs.

In contrast, as for the Mini tablets, the iPad Mini 3 and the Mini 2 are almost identical in hardware specs except for the fingerprint Touch ID sensor. This is the major reason why many people have opted for the Mini 2 over the Mini 3 this year.

Most online reviewers have felt that the touch sensor and Champagne Gold are not premium enough to justify the extra $100 cost. Nevertheless, many holiday shoppers will choose the 2014 Mini over the 2013 model because those two features really do give the iPad an edge over other tablets in the market.
