WHITEFISH, MT / ACCESSWIRE / November 20, 2014 / We have been following The Guitammer Company (OTC: GTMM) over the past couple of years, writing about the company's transition from selling transducer hardware to licensing its haptic-tactile broadcast technology. If Guitammer is able to successfully navigate this transition, the market potential and outlook for the company change from 'nice little niche hardware manufacturer' to 'this is how live sports are broadcast.' It is quite a leap. As is the case with many smaller public companies that reach for the stars, the tendency for investors is to take a wait-and-see approach. The plan sounds good, but until there is solid evidence that the plan is actually being carried out, many people are going to wait to see before they jump in.

Guitammer produced just such evidence earlier this week. In a joint announcement with the NHL's San Jose Sharks and Comcast SportsNet California, the company made public that all Sharks' home games will be broadcast utilizing Guitammer's patented broadcast technology, marketed as '4D Sports powered by Buttkicker.'

Fans at home will be able to feel the checks into the boards while they sit on the couch, as the impact of those checks is broadcast alongside the traditional audio and video data. This broadcast agreement builds on the promise of last year's National Hot Rod Association telecasts over ESPN2. Those telecasts were more like a proof-of-concept trial run, but this agreement is much more consequential.

This three-way partnership is the type of deal that Guitammer is looking to cut more of in the future. It involves the rights holder (the San Jose Sharks) and the broadcaster (Comcast SportsNet California). It is a revenue-sharing and co-marketing deal in which all three parties have a bottom-line interest in the success of the program. Guitammer's goal is to have its patented broadcast technology sit at the foundation, as the industry standard, of the progression toward more immersive live sports broadcasts. This agreement moves them considerably further along that path and can act as a model for future deals. And, as we have written before, Guitammer is not only finding commercial partners for its technology but is on the way to standardizing its technology in the broadcast industry.

Additionally, Comcast SportsNet California is an NBC Sports Regional Network, part of NBCUniversal, which is a subsidiary of Comcast. NBC Sports Group has the rights to broadcast NHL games through the 2021 season, and the group also broadcasts many other live sports. Guitammer is positioned to advance its technology and impress both a major professional sports league as well as one of the premier broadcasters of live sports in America.

This little company from Ohio is partnering with the biggest players in live sports to usher in the next generation of broadcast entertainment. Its patented technology directly feeds the dominant cultural trends of immersive entertainment and virtual reality. Perhaps it is time to take another look at The Guitammer Company.
