Company tops $500,000 in corporate giving with recent, $50,250 donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital

Hanover, MD / ACCESSWIRE / October 31, 2014 / "As a company and as individuals, we consider it our obligation to give back to our communities and to those less fortunate," said Charles Levine, National Advertising Director of Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing (MAW), announcing the company's recent donation of $50,250 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. St. Jude's is a pediatric treatment and research facility focused on children's catastrophic diseases with a policy of never turning away a patient, regardless of his or her ability to pay. "Corporate philanthropy is an essential component of a good business," he said. "Every business that can give, must give to help those less fortunate. That's why Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing, in good times and bad, has continued our heartfelt support for organizations like St. Jude and many others that do such good works, donating more than a half-million dollars in recent years alone."

Eric Tullio, Mid-Atlantic's National Operations Manager, added that, "We firmly believe that small business is the backbone of the American economy and, as such, it also should be the hub of corporate philanthropy. That's the thinking that drives our annual donations program, wherein we research and select recipients from among the many worthy charities that exist in our local markets and across the nation."

Mr. Tullio went on to note that in the recent past, MAW made donations to a diverse group of nonprofits, including the American Diabetes Association ($50,000); Doctors Without Borders ($41,000, for Haitian relief); the USO ($45,000 in support of the troops); the Packard Center at Johns Hopkins University Hospital ($40,000,for ALS research); the United Way ($32,000 for Hurricane Katrina relief); Catholic Relief Services ($45,000 for tsunami relief) and Habitat for Humanity (donating more than $100,000 to install MAW's patented, waterproofing systems in 11 new homes for low income families).
