SAN ANTONIO, TX / ACCESSWIRE / October 30, 2014 / Wytec International, Inc., a subsidiary of Competitive Companies Inc. (CCI), (OTCQB: CCOP) announced today it has initiated a new program called the "Municipal Wi-Fi Rescue and Restoration Program."

"As mobile broadband continues to increase at a feverish pace, carriers are driven to keep up with the demand with the implementation of a new technology called 'Small Cells,'" remarks William Gray-President of Wytec International, Inc.

Small Cells have most recently become the new "buzz" word for carriers attempting to address the overwhelming demand for additional data capacity consumed by today's smartphones. This requires significantly more transmitting locations (sites) in which municipal owned "utility poles" have become the latest target for mounting Small Cells. Wytec's Wi-Fi Rescue and Restoration Program involves the analysis of not only evaluating a city's most valuable assets such as their fiber optic deployment plans and right of way usage fees but their utility pole access agreements. Wytec offers these evaluation services at no extra charge to the city.

The Wi-Fi Rescue and Restoration Program was initially motivated by Wytec's research on 57 U.S. cities currently providing muni-Wi-Fi on some level. "A single-minded focus such as free Wi-Fi leaves cities with considerably less than the economic impact they had hoped for," says Angus Davis-Chief Strategic Officer for CCI.

In a 2012 survey 90% of professionals in economic development organizations agreed that a broadband speed of at least 25-50 Mbps is needed to attract new business to a city. Wytec's patent pending Small Cell technology called the LPN-16 is designed to provide broadband speeds in excess of 200 Mbps to a smartphone. The Company plans to partner with at least thirty (30) U.S. municipalities utilizing the LPN-16 Small Cell technology by year-end 2015.

"We are exceptionally excited about the deployment of the LPN-16 technology as it represents an aggressive move for Wytec to become one of the largest and fastest Small Cell networks in North America," states Bob Merola, Wytec's CTO.

As forecasted by Signals and Systems Research, Small Cells and carrier Wi-Fi deployment are expected to carry more than 60% of all mobile data traffic by 2020 and account for $352 Billion in mobile data service revenue.
