Benzinga Announces First Annual Fintech Awards To Discover New Innovations In Financial Technology

More than $1 million in total prizes will be awarded to three incredible fintech companies

Southfield, MI / ACCESSWIRE / October 28, 2014 / Benzinga, a dynamic and innovative financial media company, today announced the inaugural Benzinga Fintech Awards. Designed to uncover the most innovative companies within the financial technology & media sector, the Benzinga Fintech Awards will provide three winning companies with new opportunities for growth.

"With all the exciting innovation happening in the fintech space right now, including the hyper growth and investments from venture capitalists, we knew this competition would be a great opportunity to bring the community together," said Jason Raznick, CEO of Benzinga and Marketfy.

Entrepreneurs will have the chance to enter their companies into one of six categories:

- Best Crowdsourced Financial Content

- Best Hedge Fund Site

- Best Stock Research Tools

- Best Personal Finance Site

- Best Financial App

- Best Investing Blog

There is also an "Other" category, allowing new and unique fintech concepts to participate in the competition as well.

Applications are now being accepted at BenzingaFintechAwards.com. Entrants will be tasked with acquiring votes (defined as social media shares) on their official Benzinga Fintech Awards profile page. Each firm will need at least 100 votes to move on to the final round.

Finalists will be judged by a panel of top-name industry leaders who will select the first, second and third most innovative fintech companies:

- Steve Ehrlich, Chief Executive Officer of Honos Financial

- Ron Insana, CNBC Senior Analyst and a Financial Industry Expert

- Josh Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Ritholtz Wealth Management

- Andrew Ackerman, Managing Director of DreamIt New York

- Kyle Bazzy, President of Marketfy & Benzinga

Participating businesses will have the chance to win more than $1 million in total prizes, including a grand prize of 5 million ad impressions on Benzinga.com and a one-year subscription to Benzinga Pro, an innovative service that provides real-time news and actionable trading ideas.
