The Multi-Specialty Practice in Singapore Has Also Added Stroke Occupational Therapy, Pilates Reformer Rehabilitation and Castor Oil Therapy

Singapore, Singapore / ACCESSWIRE / October 24, 2014 / Urbanrehab: Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Specialists, a multi-specialty practice based in Singapore, is proud to announce that they are now offering several new services, including women's health physiotherapy, stroke occupational therapy and more.

As a spokesperson for Urbanrehab Pte Ltd noted, the practice is always looking for better ways and solutions to help their clients accelerate their recovery, shorten the amount of time they are in pain, and get back to their regular lives and performances. These goals are why Urbanrehab Pte Ltd recently introduced four new services.

For example, the newly-added Urbanrehab women's health physiotherapy Singapore division is focused on managing musculoskeletal conditions and pains and/or discomfort that occur during pregnancy-particularly in helping women who are suffering from pelvic pain, which might present as back or hip pain. Instead of using treatments that can be harmful to a developing baby, the physiotherapist will use clinical tools that are safe for both mom and baby.

As the company spokesperson noted, the outpatient stroke occupational therapy deals with the cognitive, physical and emotional challenges and changes that can happen due to having a stroke.

"The stroke occupational therapists can help stroke survivors engage in the activities that are not only activities that are meaningful to them but also activities they need to do,"the spokesperson said.

In addition, although it is a newly introduced service, the Pilates Reformer rehabilitation is already getting a lot of attention from clients, who are interested in the innovative exercise equipment.

"What this reformer does is that it adds layers of resistance to these exercises as you perform the specific exercises which in turn, targets very specific areas of your body," the company spokesperson explained, adding that the additional layers of resistance may increase a person's endurance, flexibility, posture and core strength.

The fourth new service that is now offered at Urbanrehab Pte Ltd is called castor oil therapy. The natural herbal oil can be used as a pain reliever, and is typically effective for people suffering from sciatica, osteoarthritis, chronic neck and back pain, and other painful conditions.

"The therapy is carried out in the form of a castor oil pack where the castor oil is first soaked in a flannel and then placing it over the affected area," the company spokesperson said, adding that the pack is then left on for around 30 to 45 minutes.

"The treatment is repeated as frequently as possible depending on the advice of the clinician."
