Bringing attention to emergency preparedness, the governor of Kansas has declared October as "Zombie Preparedness Month." 4Patriots specializes in products designed to help people prepare for an uncertain future.

Nashville, Tenn. / ACCESSWIRE / October 16, 2014 / Sam Brownback may not believe in zombies, but he certainly believes in preparedness. In order to bring attention to the importance of being prepared for emergencies, the governor of Kansas has declared October Zombie Preparedness Month.

Devan Tucking of the Division of Emergency Management in Kansas said, "If you're equipped to handle the zombie apocalypse then you're prepared for tornadoes, severe storms, fire and any other natural disaster Kansas usually faces. This is a fun and low-stress way to get families involved."

Kansas state officials said that preparing for a zombie disaster involves coming up with an emergency plan and gathering adequate survival supplies.

Nashville, Tenn.-based 4Patriots, which provides a variety of products that help people become more self-reliant and independent, applauds the Kansas governor for bringing attention to the issue of preparedness.

4Patriots Partner Allen Baler says that the best way for Americans to prepare for an emergency situation is by stockpiling non-perishable food, water and other essential items.

"Emergency situations continue to occur all over the country, but too many people don't think it will happen to them," said Baler, whose company launched in 2008 as Reboot Marketing and was named to the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing companies in America in 2013. "But when it does, only those who are prepared are going to be able to avoid heading to FEMA centers.

"Despite the many weather disasters, clean water shortages and cyber attacks on our electrical grid recently, many Americans are still not prepared to handle a situation in which food and water are not readily available."

"Another advantage to being prepared is that it leads to peace of mind. No matter what happens, you know that you're prepared because you stored nutritious food with a long shelf life, as well as clean drinking water."
