EDMONDS, WA / ACCESSWIRE / August 14, 2014 / American Brewing Company, Inc., (ABRW) ("ABC"), an award-winning micro-brewing company based out of the Pacific Northwest, announced today that acclaimed author, food writer and broadcaster, Simon Majumdar, has been elected to the company's Board of Directors.

Majumdar is best known for his frequent appearances on The Food Network and for his best-selling books, Eat My Globe and Eating for Britain. He is an author, journalist and a TV personality whose recurring role as judge on Cutthroat Kitchen, Iron Chef America and Next Iron Chef has earned him the title of Food Network's "toughest critic."  As part of his ongoing Fed, White and Blue Tour, Majumdar helped American Brewing create Fed, White and Brew ESB, which ABC released in April of 2013 and later won a Bronze Medal at the 2013 Great American Beer Festival.

"I am ecstatic to join the Board of American Brewing and to keep working with this outstanding team," said Majumdar.  "Helping them make Fed, White and Brew ESB was a wonderful experience for me and now as a member of the Board, I look forward to continuing to share my knowledge and insights with the company regarding its future direction and growth."

"It has been a pleasure working alongside Simon over the past year and we are delighted to continue working with him to further develop our business and the American Brewing brand," said Neil Fallon, CEO of American Brewing. "His passion for food and drink, plus his wealth of experience in the industry, will benefit our Board greatly as we work toward establishing ABC as a premier micro-brewer."

As a world-renowned broadcaster and author, Majumdar is dedicated to fulfilling his ambition to "Go Everywhere. Eat Everything." It is a journey that has taken him to all fifty states and to dozens of countries around the world. In addition to writing Eat My Globe and Eating for Britain, his new book—Fed, White and Blue- which catalogues his journey to American citizenship, will be published by Hudson Street Press in 2015. Majumdar is also a well-recognized personality on the Food Network, regularly appearing on shows such as Iron Chef America, The Next Iron Chef, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, Cutthroat Kitchen, Extreme Chef and Beat Bobby Flay. He has also recently appeared as an expert commentator on National Geographic's major new series "Eat: The Story of Food."

About American Brewing Company

Founded in 2010, American Brewing Company, Inc., is an award-winning micro-brewing company based out of Edmonds, Washington. ABC's current offerings include Breakaway IPA (named 'Best in the West' by Beer West Magazine), American Blonde (featured in GQ Magazine), Flying Monkey Dogfight Pale Ale, and Caboose Oatmeal Stout. ABC also produces seasonal brew batches, two of which—The Brave American and Polska Porter—won Bronze Medals at the Great American Beer Festival in 2011 and 2012, respectively. ABC's current U.S. sales network includes Washington and North Carolina, with sales pending in Oregon, Nevada, New Jersey, Minnesota, Montana and Idaho as well. ABC also has international sales in Canada and Japan.

ABC practices the Northwest Style of Brewing, which utilizes generous amounts of hops. Only the freshest ingredients are used in ABC's brewing process, most of which are sourced from the Pacific Northwest. Ingredients are handpicked by the company's brewer and are blended in a 24-day process from milling to packaging. The almost month-long process provides ample time for the flavors and aromatics to blend properly. Quality checks are performed during each stage of the process to minimize taste variations between batches. ABC's current business plans include continuing to develop and sell its four main products, as well as expanding its product types, packaging and distribution to additional geographic regions in the United States.
