After another 8-8 finish and another Week 17 loss with the division on the line, the Dallas Cowboys and their fans are desperate to get back to their winning ways. The Cowboys have not really done much since their last Super Bowl victory in 1995. In fact, the Cowboys have only made the playoffs once in the past six seasons; and they lost in the divisional round. Owner Jerry Jones is tired of losing, especially with such a talented roster, so there are a lot of jobs riding on this season.

The Cowboys offense should have no problem being a top ten offense again this season. Quarterback Tony Romo continues to put up big numbers for the Cowboys despite the criticism; and if he can improve his late-game play, he would easily be one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL this season. Romo will also have a lot of help this season on offense. Running back DeMarco Murray definitely has a lot of potential to be a feature back in the league if he can stay healthy. Romo also has Wide Receiver Dez Bryant on the field with him who has emerged as one of the best receivers in the NFL over the past few seasons. The Cowboys also brought in Scott Linehan to handle the offensive play calling duties in Dallas. The Cowboys offense is looking great for this coming season, and their offense usually is not the problem; however, their defense may need some improvement.

With Pro Bowl defensive lineman Demarcus Ware signing with the Denver Broncos, the already-weak Cowboys defense is only getting worse. On top of that, linebacker Sean Lee will be missing this coming season after tearing his ACL in one of the Cowboys first OTA's of the season. Lee, much like Murray, is a great player with a serious injury problem. The Cowboys defense was an embarrassment last season; and between injuries and free agency losses, it is not looking much better for this coming season.

The Cowboys schedule starts out tough but gets a little easier as the season progresses. If the defense can do any better than last season, the Cowboys should have no problem winning the NFC East and making it to the playoffs for the first time in five seasons. In fact, the division title may very likely come down to Week 17 again this season when the Cowboys take on the Washington Redskins in Washington. The Cowboys have lost their Week 17 games the past two seasons, but with any defensive help the result may be different this season.

The complete schedule for the Dallas Cowboys 2014 regular season is as follows:

Week 01: September 7th vs. San Francisco 49ers
