Vancouver, BC / ACCESSWIRE / June 5, 2014 - Alabama Graphite Corp. (the "Company") (TSX-V: ALP) (OTCQB: ABGPF) (FRANKFURT: 1AG WKN: A1J35M) (ISIN# CA0102931080) is pleased to announce that it has received initial Metallurgical Scoping Level Evaluation of Graphite Composites from SGS Canada in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada. Results from two drill core samples taken from the drill grid area and the northern fence yielded mass recoveries of 25% and 28% into the large (coarse) flake size category of greater than +80 mesh. In addition, initial simple flotation tests used to produce these initial concentrates had purities up to 93% C(t). A full process development study including grinding and flotation optimization is expected to yield noticeably higher purities, thus reducing the operating cost of a downstream mining process.

The Company is confident, from the results of this analysis, that as the project is advanced, a concentration of 95%+ C(t) purity will be achievable by means of simple flotation only without the use of environmentally damaging chemical processes. The majority of premium-priced graphite concentrates equal or exceed this 95% threshold in the larger flake sizes and presently is used to make spherical graphite for manufacturing lithium-ion batteries.

In addition, head grades of 3.21 % and 4.4 % C(g) were determined for these composite samples.

The Company's Coosa project is located within an area of significant historical production of flake graphite. The project has in place critical infrastructure, is within close proximity to transportation routes and a hospitable climate allowing for year-round production.

"We are pleased to have the samples respond so favorably to the simple, flotation process," remarked Dr. Douglas Oliver, VP of Exploration. "As a first attempt at comprehensive metallurgy, getting both this proportion of coarse flakes and the purity levels are notable achievements. We see this as another incremental step in moving us closer to production."

The primary objective of the scoping-level program is to determine the zones that show the most promise from a metallurgical response and graphite flake-size distribution point of view. A full flow sheet development program will be completed on the most promising zones.

"These preliminary results are extremely encouraging and are starting to showcase the combination of fundamental economics and our mission to be the greenest graphite operation in the world. The fact that the initial tests already achieved concentrate grades of 93% is encouraging news. It is believed that a flow sheet optimization program will enhance these concentrate grades noticeably allowing us to have an extremely cost efficient downstream process," stated Ron Roda, CEO of the Company. "Also it is important to note that we have uncovered multiple zones with more compelling geophysical signatures than the drill grid. The Company is actively engaged in testing these zones and anticipates releasing these results over the next couple of months."
