Shares of JCP closed down 4.73% on Tuesday with about 25.3 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest decliners on the NYSE. There was no significant news released for the company but the stock has dropped 20% in the past week.

It was the last day the company could sell its cars in New Jersey directly to customers. Tesla filed a notice with the state appellate division in late March to sue the state of New Jersey over the ruling.
