Aspen Insurance Turns down $3.2B Bid from Endurance Specialty Holdings; Herbalife Says Not Aware of Any Probe

Shares of Aspen Insurance Holdings closed up 11.18% on about 4.1 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers on the NYSE and hit a new high of $46.86 during intra-day trading. The company has rejected an unsolicited offer from Endurance Specialty Holdings for them to acquire the company at $47.50 a share.

Shares of Splunk Inc. closed up nearly 5% with about 6 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers on the NASDAQ despite no news released. The stock had plunged nearly 50% from its February peak and saw a slight bounce on Monday.

Herbalife bounced back on Monday closing the day up with gains of almost 5%. The company was reported this past Friday to be under investigation by the FBI. Herbalife announced on Monday that they had no awareness of this and have not received any notice By the Department of Justice or the FBI.
