The 14 members of the Pulaski County Quorum Court had approved of a resolution on Tuesday night that
would compel Exxon Mobil to reposition the concerned part of the pipeline. The reason to relocate the pipeline is to stop it from rupturing and spilling oil into the Maumelle Watershed that merges with Lake Maumelle. About 400,000 Central Arkansans get drinking water from the lake.
The big worry is that in case a rupture in the pipeline takes place along the watershed, Lake Maumelle stands a chance to get contaminated. This could result in a serious threat to the health of people drinking that water. The quorum court believes that that the pipeline must be relocated the soonest possible.
Justice of Peace Karilyn Brown said that there is no point in waiting and attempting to mitigate things. There is no other way but to move the pipeline. Central Arkansas Water has asked Exxon Mobil to move the pipeline to the watershed space in the five years to come. At the same time, CAW is pushing for some short-term protection
methods.
In other news, Mississippi has mentioned that the state is filing a case against BP plc (ADR)(NYSE:BP) over
Deepwater Horizon disaster of 2010. Florida has declared on Saturday that it was including itself as one of the claimants, who are seeking damages over the spill. Florida has also filed cases against Anadarko Petroleum, Halliburton and Transocean.

Medical Marijuana Inc(PINK:MJNA) continued to slide on Wednesday and fell another 8% at $0.207.
